If scents are an extension of what is going on in one’s mind…Alienor Massenet's perfectly represent her independent and cunning spirit. Her ascent into the perfumery elite began with a pivotal internship at Firmenich at 17. Trained by Monique Schlinger at 5e Sens and armed with a BA from Paris, she soon joined the ranks at Florasynth, then IFF, and then Symrise.
Her passion for scents traces back to childhood. She vividly remembers the warm scent of sun-drenched skin, the comforting milky musk, and the fresh, salty breeze of the Atlantic. These early impressions guide her choice of themes and materials—from leathers and liqueurs to seeds and roses—pushing her to explore the sensory depths of perfumery. Her spiritual connection to labdanum marks it as her signature "lucky" ingredient, often accompanied by myrrh, lending a mystical air to her scents.
BIG TENSION, BIG SYNERGY, BIG CONTRASTS
Massenet says that she doesn’t have a signature style. If anything, her signature is in her playful approach. She is all about intense contrasts and mixing ingredients that seem from different worlds. However, there is indeed a soft spot in her heart for gourmand scents and vanilla.
