Jérôme Epinette’s journey into the world of perfumery began amidst the vineyards of Burgundy, where he spent his childhood learning to appreciate the complex nuances of wine and cultivating a fascination for the art of scent. Raised by a mother who owned perfume boutiques, Jérôme was inspired from an early age by the elegance and magic of fragrances—a passion that led him straight to Grasse, the world’s perfume capital, to perfect his craft at the renowned Perfumery Institute.
He took his first professional steps at Robertet, mentored by Michel Almairac, and created his first fragrance, Montblanc Femme Individuelle, a gourmand chypre that remains relevant even today. His passion for the natural essence of ingredients has made him a master of blending them with synthetic elements, striking the perfect balance between nature's gifts and human ingenuity.
PERFUME AS A JEWEL
Jérôme is known for his love of wood, a signature touch that is present in most of his creations. To Jérôme, perfumery is an essential accessory—a jewel that gives you confidence. In his view, all that matters is that it makes you happy. That’s how it fulfills its mission.
