The wood-based papers of a book contain a substance called ‘lignin’ which is closely related to vanillin, and that’s why most people can’t help themselves around books, they just must open one, smell it, and right there, fell in love with the smell of that book. Amouage recreated this scent and named it OPUS II. And so, the lavender, absinth, pepper, pink bay, jasmine, rose, cinnamon, cardamom, cedarwood, patchouli, amber, musk and frankincense, they just made history together, as they compose a perfume that smells like books.
