Bisch's dedication to his craft is evident in his preference for briefs that allow him to express his creativity without constraints. He often picked ingredients he initially disliked. De Sade’s writings inspired some concoctions to capture something visceral that speaks directly to the body. This dedication to his craft is akin to de Sade's quote that voluptuousness is to the other passions what nervous fluid is to life: it supports and empowers them all. The same can be said about the key ingredients Bisch places at the heart of his compositions.
The fragrances that marked his childhood in London—from the pastries in quaint cafés and blooming gardens to the mundane olfactory amalgam of the subway—have left a lasting impression. However, his appetite for niche complexity was aroused by his mother, who never left the house without a bottle of perfume.
